Being part of a virtual team is very different from working face-to-face.

Firstly, establishing trust and building relationships can take much longer and demand a whole lot more commitment from everyone in the team.

Keeping focused on your own goals as well as those of the team is also much harder if your team rarely has the opportunity to meet physically to discuss what’s been going on and your team leader is never around.

And you may find yourself having to work across different time zones with people from very different cultures and ways of working from yours.
